Age limit: 14 to 25 years.

Rules:

  • Only one entry per person will be accepted.
  • This is an individual competition. Co-authored pieces will be disqualified.
  • Submission should be in English OR Hindi only and submitted in the typed format in the respective script.
  • The tale should have only 250 characters including spaces and punctuation/special characters.
  • Avoid abstract thoughts and vague ideas. Your piece should be telling a story in 250 characters.
  • Plagiarism will not be tolerated.
  • By participating in the competition, you are giving Abhivyaktee-Panaji the permission to publish/share your work. However, the credit will be given to the writer.
  • The decision of the judges will be final and abiding by all.

Judging criteria:

  • Originality, Creativity and relevance to the theme: Is the tale something out of the ordinary? Does it have the WOW factor?
  • Grammar and Construction: Do you manage to express yourself in 140 characters without compromising the beauty and technicalities of the language?
  • The flow and the content: Does your micro tale convey a story? Does it have a natural flow of words?.

Photography

Theme: Water bodies - Their importance

Age Limit: 16 - 30 years.

Rules:

  • Only one entry per person will be accepted.
  • Entries must be the original work of the participant. Plagiarism or the use of others' work will not be accepted.
  • The photographs can be of any plant or animal, but in their natural habitat. We highly condemn encapturement and abuse of the animals, hence entries promoting these practices in any way will be disqualified.
  • There are no restrictions about the gear used. Mobile phones are allowed, and so are DSLRs.
  • Submit original work only, in high-resolution.
  • Basic editing, including colour enhancement, the use of filters, and cropping of the Photo is acceptable, provided any such editing does not affect the authenticity and/or genuineness of the Photo, and/or the depiction of nature.
  • Advanced editing, including but not limited to adding, moving or removing objects, animals or parts of animals, plants, people etc; the removal of dirt, highlights, backscatter, bubbles, debris and similar; composites, painting the foreground / painting out the background is strictly prohibited.
  • No watermarks/name/logo on the picture will be allowed.
  • You are required to submit the EXIF metadata and the original image (RAW file in case of DSLR).
  • The final image must be in JPEG/ PNG format only.
  • You are required to provide a caption for the picture however this will not be the basis for judging.
  • The decision of the judges will be final and abiding to all.
  • Top entries get featured on our Instagram Page.
  • You are required to provide the location and local name of the species/subject.
  • By participating in the competition, you are giving organizers the permission to share/publish your work. However, credit will be given to the photographer.

Judging Criteria:

  • Is the photograph unique and original?
  • Is authentic spirit of the subject captured? (habitat, mannerisms, less editing)
  • Does the photograph satisfy the criteria of creativity, composition, technical skill, adherence to the theme?
  • Overall effect: Does the picture take our breath away?

Shabd – SWAR (NON-FILMY GROUP SINGING COMPETITION)

Theme: वसुधैव कुटुंबकम

Contest open for the students of VIIIth, IXth and Xth class.

Rules:

  • Contest open for Higher Secondary, College level & Youth (Age 16-25 years).
  • Maximum 8 singers and maximum 4 accompanists; that is total 12 participants in one team.
  • Groups will have to bring their own musical instruments.
  • The duration will be minimum 3 minutes and maximum 6 minutes for each team.
  • Songs will have to be strictly NON-FILMY, in Konkani or Marathi or Hindi or English language only.
  • The song should be based on the theme given.
  • Special prize will be awarded to the melody and lyrics of the song if it’s a new composition on the given theme. Declaration in this regard will need to be submitted by the troupe leader
  • Copy of the lyrics is to be submitted along with the submission of entry.
  • No karaoke will be allowed.
  • Song will be judged based on its originality.
  • 04 to 05 Microphones will be provided at the venue.
  • The troupe/musicians to carry their own Cables/Input chords/Jacks/Pins etc.
  • By participating in the competition, you are giving organizers the permission to share/publish your song. However, credit will be given to the Group, Composer and Poet.
  • Groups will be judged on the basis of their choice of songs, performance, presentation and pronunciations.
